  2. Hello Sergio- Since you are at US Citizen, you would not need to obtain a visa, making the process less intensive. You would apply to the college and on the application mark that you are a US Citizen.

I will post a blog which will explain the application process in more detail...most of which will apply to you since you are outside of the US and non-US high school, and will require some additional items for your application.

If English is your second language, depending on the school, you may need to take the English Proficiency tests once on campus.

Most schools charge higher tuition based on "out-of-state" status, so you would fall under this category in most cases (in order to obtain in-state status, you will need to obtain residency, which varies by school and state). You will qualify for most federal scholarships and grants, but not state grants.

Entrance exams and high school transfer are two other areas which you will need in order to apply to colleges.

I hope this helps- please let me know if you have any other questions, and check back in a couple weeks for the application blog.

    -Melissa

p.s. Guanajuato is a beautiful city!

I will try and help you with questions you may have about colleges here in the US and what you will need to do!
We (myself and the US Consulate) are here to help. If it is a question about traveling to the US and I can't answer, I will pass along to the Consular staff.
      Have a great day!
